more

in a strange spate of creativity, i have discovered two more poems which i haven't posted, so here goes. god, i am sounding more and more crazed and psycho-neurotic.

Staring out across the Sea

The orange urban glow that hovers above
An adjacent shore that yearned almost ninety degrees
From where we wait, reminds me
Of everything that is yet to be done: not yet made,
Not yet kept, and the story that has never been spoken out loud.
This city far away seems to be waiting for night, but can never
Complete its rest. Bits of paint curl off and are left hanging
Aimlessly, waiting for the rain and the wind to send them on their way.
Topmost layers peel off; dusty veneers
Leaving the ribcage fence looking sullen and breathless.
This story, not yet made, not yet kept,
Could go on curling and growing forever.

no references to eq here, by the way. here is the next one:

Repetitions

It comes again as the still of the air-conditioned buzz;
The green numbers winking fluorescent, counting down
Hours when there is nothing left to do but think of you.
Through the clouded windowpane, lamppost outside
Sends in its yellowed light through the artificial air, which
Makes me think of moonlight, and how under moonlight
We become romantics, werewolves and loonies.
Something, and maybe I saw a flash on my bedroom wall,
Black and white photograph divided neatly into squares
By the window-grilles, blurred and hazy. You were outlined
In night-gray, and I watch you from my bed, where I pretend
To hold you, my pillows taking human shape, sheets
Becoming arms, endlessly long, stretching softly to caress my cheek.
An inhuman beat, the numbers change in the shift of hours.
I ruffle blankets, arrange pillows, close eyes and try to sleep,
I draw the curtain, shut out the light, snapping thoughts,
But you will haunt my dreams tonight.

so there.
ohhh one hour and fifteen minutes to go OHH ugh ugh ugh.

reeeeeeech
